WILLIAMSPORT – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-83) is set to host a free seminar and luncheon titled “Popular Scams and How to Avoid Them,” followed by Fraud Bingo, next month in Loyalsock Township.
“As technology continues to rapidly evolve, it is important to keep our vulnerable citizens up to date on the ever-changing tactics used by scammers,” said Flick. “I am especially concerned for senior citizens who are often preyed upon by financial predators. Scammers are always coming up with new methods, so it is important that we are aware of the tactics they frequently use to spot the signs of a scam before they can cause harm.”
The presentation will be conducted by George Dillman, consumer outreach specialist of the Investor Education and Consumer Outreach Office of the PA Department of Banking and Securities. This free event will be hosted at the Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company at 715 Northway Road, Williamsport, on Friday, June 2 from noon to 2 p.m. A light luncheon will be provided by Don Waltman’s Market House Meats and Deli.
