Flick Announces Nearly $215,000 Allocated for Fire, EMS Services in 83rd District

Harrisburg –Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) today announced fire and emergency response organizations in the 83rd District have been allocated close to $215,000 from the state.

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature and administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). This funding comes from Pennsylvania state gaming revenue.

“I’m grateful to see these fire and EMS providers receive this funding because they keep our communities safe and save lives,” Flick said. “This funding is critical and helps to provide essential needs to keep operations running and ensure they can respond when emergencies happen. I will continue to look for ways to secure additional resources to ensure our first responders have the tools they need to keep us safe.”

Grants awarded within the 83rd District are listed below by county.

Lycoming County:
  • Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (EMS) - $15,000.
  • Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (Fire) - $13,045.
  • DuBoistown Ambulance Service - $15,000.
  • DuBoistown Fire Department - $13,663.
  • Independent Fire Company No. 1 of South Williamsport - $12,014.
  • Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (EMS) - $15,000.
  • Loyalsock Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 (Fire) - $16,137.
  • Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company (EMS) - $15,000.
  • Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company (Fire) - $14,075.
  • South Williamsport Fire Department (EMS) - $7,348.
  • South Williamsport Fire Department (Fire) - $21,940.
  • Williamsport Area Ambulance Service Cooperative Susquehanna Regional EMS - $15,000.
  • Williamsport Bureau of Fire - $15,518.

Union County: 
  • White Deer Township Volunteer Fire Company (EMS) - $12,416.
  • White Deer Township Volunteer Fire Company (Fire) - $13,457.

Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, recruitment and retention, education about fire safety, or reduction of existing debt.

All companies that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding. Companies must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their grants.
