Flick: Nearly $1 Million Coming to Schools in 83rd District for Safety, Behavioral Health Improvements

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) announced several schools in the 83rd Legislative District will be receiving nearly $1 million to make learning environments safer and provide behavioral health support for students and staff.

The grants were approved through the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee.
 
“Each person who sets foot in our schools should never have to worry about their safety,” Flick said. “That goes for students, teachers, staff, parents and other visitors. This additional funding these districts will receive helps strengthen school safety and ensures our learning environments remain secure for everyone.”

The total amount awarded to each school is as follows:

  • BLaST IU 17 Intermediate Unit - $70,000.
  • Loyalsock Township School District - $166,365.
  • Lycoming Career and Technical School - $70,000.
  • Montgomery Area School District - $137,885.
  • South Williamsport Area School District - $150,643.
  • Williamsport Area School District - $308,227.

The PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee administers programs designed to improve school safety and security, strengthen behavioral health supports, and provide training and technical assistance to schools across Pennsylvania.
