More Than $2 Million in LSA Funding Supports Community Projects in Lycoming, Union Counties, Says Flick

HARRISBURG – Rep. Jamie Flick (R-Lycoming/Union) today highlighted his work to bring in more than $750,000 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants to parts of Lycoming and Union counties. Flick also announced an additional nearly $1.25 million of the same funding to further support community projects throughout the region.

The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA).

Local Share Account grants are funded through gaming revenues under Act 71 of 2004 and are used to support economic development, community improvement and public interest projects.

“I’m glad to see this significant funding coming to municipalities across Lycoming and Union counties,” Flick said. “These dollars will support job training and provide local governments with the infrastructure and equipment they need to continue delivering essential services.”

Funding Flick worked to secure:
• Loyalsock Township - $246,381 to purchase a bucket truck.
• Montgomery Borough - $174,352, on behalf of Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department, to replace radios.
• South Williamsport Borough - $250,000 to make road improvements and infrastructure improvements in the borough.
• White Deer Township - $92,147 to replace playground equipment at West Milton Memorial Park.

Funding secured jointly with Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Bradford/Lycoming/Sullivan/Tioga/Union):
• Gregg Township Municipal Authority - $400,000 for a sewer line rehabilitation project in Gregg Township, Union County, and Brady Township, Lycoming County.
• Lycoming County - $247,000, on behalf of Pennsylvania College of Technology, to purchase new equipment for its Aviation and Heavy Equipment Operations degree programs.

Other funding approved includes:
• Economic and Community Growth Corporation of Lycoming County - $400,000 on behalf of Lycoming College to build a new baseball stadium.
• Williamsport City - $200,000 for a new storage facility for the police department.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency responsible for administering state investments that support Pennsylvania’s economic growth and community development.
